Review Overview – What does Thermo Blend do?

From Naturewise comes Thermo Blend the ‘advanced’ fat burner that gives you energy and helps lose weight without added caffeine.

thermoblendNote the ‘added’ part of that sentence. They seem to be trying to steer clear of putting caffeine directly into their fat burner, however, as Fat Burner enthusiasts, we see nothing wrong with a little bit of extra caffeine.

It ups energy, focus and even metabolism. Regardless, Thermo Blend seems to be trying to hide it’s inner animal. We’ll explain more on that later.

On the face of it, Thermo Blend claims to:

  • Burn Fat
  • Increase Energy
  • Raise Physical Performance

You could argue the last two points are the same. However, unlike most fat burners NatureWise does seem to have vegetarian friendly capsules. Which is always good for making a product more accessible to every type of person.

Quite honestly, this is by no means the best fat burner we’ve come across. If you’re looking for a fast and effective cut, we suggest you check out our Top 3 Highest Rated Fat Burners on the Market.

How does Thermo Blend work?

NatureWise requires 2 capsules a day taken both at once. Each box comes with a 60 day supply giving you a 120 capsules.

We’ve spoken before about how we feel about one dose daily products. Although convenient, they do not have the long lasting effects that come with taking 3-4 doses a day. This causes two main problems:

  • The thermogenesis wears off
  • Energy Crashes

Although, NatureWise say they have no added caffeine, they still have caffeine in their product.

Let me show you what we mean:

thermo-blend-ingredientsRight off the bat there’s 400mg of Green Tea.

Don’t get us wrong. We love green tea. The catechins in the herb help promote norepinephrine in the body which is the fat burning hormone which starts thermogenesis. Also the caffeine in it boosts metabolism and focus. On it’s own there’s not enough to cause an energy crash… however:

There’s also 300mg of Bitter Orange in this product.

We hate Bitter Orange. Better known as synephrine, bitter orange works as a stimulant. Although this can help focus, working with any caffeinated herbs, synephrine has been known to cause numerous side effects.

There are also no studies in place that prove it’s effectiveness as a fat burner. The safe levels of synephrine have been reported to be around 10-20 mg three times a day… So 300mg is far too much.

Guarana was next on the list, 200mg of it.

Guarana is another good caffeinated herb for raising metabolism and energy levels. However, it’s relationship with synephrine can lead to negative side effects. Like before, we’ll cover this later.

The 150mg Rhodiola should have some benefit.

Seen in some studies to help improve both mood and cognition, Rhodiola Rosea is a reliable cognitive enhancer. Pity it won’t help you burn fat.

And it’s a pity there’s only 50mg of Eleuthero.

Finally. Eleuthero is an anti-stress herb that has been proven to increase aerobic activity. It’s also known as Siberian Ginseng, and has the potential to increase immunity.

The sad part is that it has only been recorded to be effective in the 300mg+ range. It’s actually recommended 2-4g per serving.

Another caffeinated ingredient comes into play with 50g of Cocoa.

Cocoa is made up of a combination of theobromine and caffeine. It’s just going to add another kick to this ‘no added caffeine’ concoction. However, it has been seen to have positive cognitive effects and good at improving circulation, which is always good for a pump.

However, the effective dose hovers around the 500-1000mg range.

At least there’s some thermogenesis confirmed from the 50mg of Cayenne Pepper.

It may not be a lot, but it should make a difference. The Cayenne pepper is a thermogenic machine, raising the temperature of the core, the body works hard to regulate the heat. In doing so it burns more calories with no extra effort on our part.

Finally the N-Acetyl-Tyrosine and L-Carnitine were 25mg EACH.

These are both amino acids that boost congitive function. However the standard doses for the pair of these ingredients are well above 25mg. We’re talking around 500-2500mg. They won’t make a difference here in Thermo Blend.thermoblebnd2

That was a travesty. The only good ingredients are brought down by synephrine. This product is ‘no added caffeine’ for a reason: it’s already a stimulant machine.  Be careful.

Side Effects?

Synephrine & Other Stimulants

Synephrine when taken over the standard dose (10-20mg… here it’s 300mg) and mixed with caffeinated products can lead to some pretty nasty side effects.

These include:

  • Increased risk of heart attack
  • Increased risk of stroke
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Headaches

The one that occurs most frequently are the headaches. Especially for us. Even, Jim Stoppani got wise and took it out of the original formula of Shred JYM due to the complaints.

Is there anything better out there?

There is.

We’ve scoured the market for the best fat burners that promote:

  • Calorie Burning
  • Energy
  • Fat Loss
  • Appetite Suppression

And we’ve narrowed it down to just three.

Thermo Blend Review Conclusion

Do not buy this product.

The synephrine is what damages it for us the most. The side effects are too great for this to be a ‘natural’ safe product. Headaches, heart risks and high blood pressure are not what we’re looking for when it comes to burning fat.

Also the fact that Thermo Blend’s marketing preaches ‘no added stimulants’ which is technically true, but this implies that it has a low stimulant amount. But in fact, there’s actually quite a lot of stimulants in this product: Green Tea, Bitter Orange, Guarana and Cocoa.

It’s definitely not the best fat burner out there. If you want to see what we’ve had the best results with, for the safest and most effective cut, check out out top fat burner below:

I’ve been using these for about 2 weeks, most the time they are fine, but twice my skin has been very hot and red and hands and feet have sometimes been itchy. Could this be a side effect of the synephrine?

Hey Keely thanks for getting in touch!

Possibly. Synephrine has been linked to a range of problems in the research that we’ve looked at, one of the lesser ones being skin complaints – which could explain the itchiness, and to some extent, the redness.

However, the hot skin sounds like the thermogenic effects – does it kick in shortly after you take it?

This may be the cayenne pepper, its heat raises your core temperature which makes your body initiate a cool down process – which burns extra calories and helps you burn more fat.

If the problems persist I’d suggest lowering the dosage down to 1 capsule for a few days and see how you feel. If it persists, I would stop completely. We’ve never been fans of Bitter Orange Extract – It’s not worth the discomfort.

Thanks again, and I hope this helps.
