Review Overview – What does Destroy the Enemy do?

dte-run-everything-labs-reviewDTE is a fat burner launched by YouTube stars Rob & Dana Linn-Bailey.

It’s claimed to:

  • Burn Fat
  • Raise Energy
  • Improve Focus

And a portion of the sales go towards a monthly charity or cause of the couple’s choice.

But does it actually work?

We’ve taken a closer look at the science behind DTE and seen whether it really is worth the purchase.

Here’s what we’ve found:

How are the servings?

Poor.

With only one serving a day to keep you going throughout the day, you’re not receiving a constant supply of nutrients to keep you burning fat.

What you should be looking for:

Ideally, you want a fat burner that has 3 – 4 servings a day. This gives you a constant supply of what you need to keep you burning fat.

What about the ingredients in Run Everything Labs’ DTE?

Okay, but there’s room for improvement.

A few of the key elements are there. But there’s very few clinically supported thermogenics in the mix. The main ingredients to keep in mind are the L-Carnitine and the Caffeine – and even the caffeine has it’s downsides.

Take a look:dte-suppfacts

The Acetyl-L-Carnitine is definitely going to make a difference here…

One of the best amino acids for raising energy levels, and effectively dosed too.

For the best effects from this nutrient you need around 500 – 2500mg of L-Carnitine, with the 1000mg in DTE, you’ll definitely get what you need.

The Naringin maybe not so much…

Essentially, Grapefruit extract. There’s mixed evidence of this nutrient working, but all sources seem to be pretty clear about whatever effects that occur are minor.

This won’t do that much for getting you shredded.

Coleus Forskolin has mixed results…

Again the effects are only minor, with some sources saying it helps fat loss and testosterone boosting in men. That being said,it doesn’t have any side effects and can only provide benefits here.

But that caffeine is WAY too much…

250mg of caffeine for a fat burner is more than most pre-workouts. If you’re not used to the rush of this amount of caffeine we suggest taking one or two capsules at a time – however, this does a disservice to the other nutrients in this product.

There’s no concrete evidence out there for Orchilean at the moment…

Thought to be a more effective version of DMAA (a banned substance) no evidence has come forward to suggest this is the case, there’s not much research on it at all actually. Be careful with this nutrient.

Hesperidin may help circulation…

Studies suggest this nutrient may improve blood flow.

But Synephrine is going to cause problems…

Also known as bitter orange extract – and known to react badly with caffeine, and caffeinated herbs like Green Tea. More on that later in the side effects section.

And there’s limited proof for Rauwolscine…

Thought to help suppress appetite, but there’s little evidence to prove this.

Ingredients Bottom Line:

Overall there seems to be a good range of ingredients in DTE, but there are also some not so great ones.

The L-Carnitine is well-dosed and a good choice for anyone looking to boost their energy, but the caffeine is a bit excessive, and the synephrine can make matters a lot worse.

On top of this there’s limited studies for the other ingredients like the Orchilean and the Rauwolscine which leads us to believe that there are better products out there.

Side Effects

The main areas to worry about side effects with Destroy The Enemy is DTE’s large use of Caffeine and the inclusion of syneprhine.

The caffeine content is 250mg, which is a lot for fat burners, even for some pre-workouts. If you’re not use to the dosage it can lead to problems such as:

  • Jitters
  • Nausea
  • Light Headedness
  • Raised Heart Rate
  • Risk of High Blood Pressure

The synephrine has been seen to make these effects even worse, and even in some cases cause migraines.

Run Everything Labs Destroy the Enemy (DTE) Conclusion

On the whole this is an okay fat burner, but a lot of work is needed to make it a great one.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Over-dosed in areas – More caffeine than most pre-workouts (could cause side effects)
  • Potential Side Effects – Synephrine has been linked to various side effects with caffeine
  • Some unreliable ingredients – Not a lot of ingredients supported by clinical studies
